Retirement Process and Procedures There are a series of important steps that must be carefully followed in order to ensure that retirees are thoroughly informed regarding retirement requirements and options and so that the process adhers to state regulations.
Granting of Emeritus/a Status
Retiring tenured professors who have been University faculty for at least ten years are eligible for nomination to Emerita/Emeritus status. To be granted the title, a modified APT process ending in the approval of the President is required.
