Faculty Affairs Office Reorganization
In an effort to continue serving its constituency, the Office of Faculty Affairs has undertaken a reorganization that we hope will help us streamline our practices in faculty leadership and mentoring.
Our colleague Dr. Rhonda Malone, currently Director of Faculty Mentoring and Development, will be stepping down on January 1st 2013. Rhonda has served this office with dedication, dignity and passion for sixteen years, helping to define it into what it is today and, furthermore, what it can be in the future. She will moreover help the rest of the team with the transition in the months to come.
Professor Steve Marcus, former chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, former Director of the Institute for Systems Research, and an engaged citizen of this university, will be assuming a newly defined role of Director of Faculty Leadership. We hope that this part-time position is filled on a rotating basis by a member of our faculty, so as to strengthen the partnership between this office and its constituencies.
Ms. Andrea Foster Goltz, who has just graduated from our i-School with a Masters in Library Science (her second, after her MA in Art History), will join us as Acting Coordinator for the Office, primarily helping the Director of Faculty Leadership.
Dr. Mark Arnold has been Acting Director of Faculty Initiatives since January 2012, and Ms. Betty Wineke became our Office Manager in September 2011. Together with our two graduate Research Assistants (Ms. Rebecca Follman being our webmaster) and our undergraduate Assistants, this completes our team.
This next Summer and Fall will be one of reorganization for us, so we hope you excuse our potential glitches as we adjust to the new structure. We hope that come the new year we will be able to hit the ground running. As always, we truly appreciate suggestions for improvement from our faculty.

Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs
